Internship Program Objectives
Christiansburg Parks and Recreation works to provide the community with leisure and recreation programs that increase quality of life. Interns will be given every opportunity for on the job experience and professional feedback.
How many internships are available through Parks & Recreation?
Please keep in mind that though your application materials may be strong, Parks and Recreation only accepts 2-3 interns per term.

Who can apply for a Parks & Recreation internship?
Internships with Parks and Recreation are open to both undergraduate and graduate students.
What types of projects will I work on?
At Christiansburg Parks and Recreation, no day is the same, so projects my vary. Projects may include: organizing and operating youth athletic leagues, scheduling of officials, managing a variety of special events, managing and supervising senior and community programs, overseeing youth camps and clinics, help with the operation of the Christiansburg Recreation Center, Harkrader Sports Complex and any other recreational items that may be deemed necessary for the success of the intern and Department of Parks and Recreation.
