Voter Registration and Elections
In order to vote in Virginia, you must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of Virginia, 18 years old by General Election Day and registered to vote in the precinct in which you reside. You may register to vote at any time during the year with the exception of 22 days prior to a general or primary election or 13 days prior to any special election.

Town Council Representatives
Christiansburg’s Town Council consists of six voting members and a mayor who votes only in the event of a tie. Town Council members are elected at large and serve four-year terms. Elections are held in November of odd-numbered years.
