Town Programs Refuse and RecyclingThe Town provides garbage pick-up (fees apply) and also maintains 3 recycling drop-off sites for newspaper, commingled containers (Plastics, glass, aluminum, etc.), glossy magazines, and catalogs. The town also maintains one location for corrugated cardboard. For more information, please visit Montgomery County's Waste Management Site. The Town also provides an Annual Paint Exchange along with Semi-Annual Spring and Fall Clean-Ups. For more information about garbage collection please click here. Hazardous Household Waste Collection Hazardous household waste should not be set out for collection with regular household garbage. A hazardous waste collection event takes place each May. The collection is free to citizens (no businesses please), and is held at a convenient site for citizens to drop off these materials. Look for announcements on your water bill, in the local paper, or on our home page to find out the date of our hazardous waste collection. For more information about hazardous household waste collection please click here. Adopt-A-Spot The Town works closely with Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and Virginia Department of Conservation & Recreation (DCR) to provide adoption programs for individuals, groups, and clubs. Keeping our streets and steams clear of trash helps make our town look more appealing while helping to reduce pollution of our waters. To adopt a street or spot within the Town of Christiansburg, our Dare To Care program covers streets within the town limits. For more information on this program, please contact Art Price at the Christiansburg Recreation Center at (540)382-2349 or you can download an application form.
