1. How do I become a member of the Christiansburg Recreation Center?

If you are a Town resident, you must provide two proofs of residency. One must be a valid driver's license (or DMV ID card); the second may be a voter registration card, real estate property tax receipt, current lease of property matching the address on DMV ID, or utility bill. We do not accept insurance information, cell phone bills, pay stubs, W-2 or any other information that is not from the DMV or paid on the property.

If you are not a town resident, but own a business in Christiansburg, you must provide a real estate property tax ticket showing that you own the property the business is located at; or provide a valid business license, a lease showing the office space is inside town limits, and a utility bill (the address on all three documents must match). Persons who do not live, own property, or own a business within Christiansburg town limits, may purchase a membership.

2. What forms of payment are accepted at the recreation center?

At this time, we only accept checks and exact change.

3. Can I register for a class or program over the telephone?

No. In order to register for a class or program, you must fill out a registration form and pay the registration fee.

4. Are strollers allowed on the walking track?

Yes, strollers will be permitted on the track Monday - Friday from
10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Strollers are only allowed on the inside lane of the track.

5. What is your inclement weather policy?

If Montgomery County Public Schools are closed due to inclement weather, the Christiansburg Recreation Center will not open until 8:00 a.m. and all scheduled programs will be cancelled.
If Montgomery County Public Schools are delayed in the morning due to inclement weather, all programs before 12:00 noon will be cancelled.
If Montgomery County Public Schools are released early due to inclement weather, all programs after 12:00 noon will be cancelled.

6. How old do you have to be to use the fitness rooms?

You must be 17 years or older to enter the fitness rooms unrestricted.
Anyone between the ages of 13-16 years old wishing to use the fitness rooms must have a parental permission form on file at the Christiansburg Recreation Center and must participate in a one time basic instruction course with a Christiansburg Recreation Center Supervisor to become familiar with the equipment and its proper use.

7. Do you provide equipment for the use of the Racquetball Courts?

We provide racquetballs and goggles that can be checked out at the Recreation Supervisor and Equipment Station. Players must provide their own racquets.
