Meet Odin
K-9 Odin, a Belgian Malinois, was purchased from a vendor in Little Rock, AR, in 2010 when he was 18 months old. 

Since then, Odin has attended a K-9 basic school in Little Rock and has been certified as a Dual Purpose Working K9. 

K-9 Odin can be used to detect the odors of marijuana, cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine. K-9 Odin is also certified in patrol duties and tracking.

K-9 Odin is used throughout the New River Valley to help and assist with
narcotics, tracking, and apprehension of fleeing or wanted suspects. 

On Duty
Acting in a patrol capacity, K-9 Odin is used for: 
  • Calls involving weapons
  • Violent subjects
  • Prowler calls
  • Area searches to locate suspects
  • Missing persons
  • Fleeing suspects (tracking)
  • Alarm calls
  • Tactical operations to clear buildings, locate suspects, and maintain perimeters
  • Crowd control
  • Narcotics detection generally involving vehicles, residences, buildings, schools, luggage, packages, and open areas
