Internship Program Objectives
Christiansburg Parks and Recreation offers a unique opportunity for marketing and graphic design students interested in recreation and athletics.

Christiansburg Parks and Recreation works to provide the community with leisure and recreation programs that increase quality of life. Marketing and graphic design interns will work on promotional materials for the department while recieving hands-on experience and professional feedback.

How many marketing and graphic design internships are available through Parks & Recreation?
Please keep in mind that though your application materials may be strong, Parks and Recreation only accepts one intern per term.

Who can apply for a Parks & Recreation internship?
Internships with Parks and Recreation are open to both undergraduate and graduate students.

What types of projects will I work on?
At Christiansburg Parks and Recreation, no day is the same, so projects my vary. Interns may expect to work on projects such as: brochures, flyers, web updates and/or strategic marketing plans to improve information distribution to clientele.

For your application to be considered complete, you must also include: 
  • A cover letter 
  • A resume 
  • A writing sample (3-5 pages) 
  • A design portfolio (3-5 pieces)*

I've filled out my application and sent it in. When can I expect a reply?
Because Parks and Recreation accepts applications on a rolling basis, response times may vary, though applicants may expect to recieve a response within two to three weeks of submission.
