Comprehensive Plan Process
Current Status
Christiansburg Town Council unanimously approved the Town of Christiansburg 2013 Comprehensive Plan on Tuesday, November 19, 2013. A copy of the adopted Plan is available here and at Christiansburg Town Hall.

The Comprehensive Plan is the principal tool to guide growth and development in the community. It examines current conditions and provides direction that will enhance the Town's functions, appearance, and livability.

Adoption of the Plan marks the conclusion of more than two years of public participation in the planning process. Over 500 citizens participated in public input surveys, outreach meetings, work group meetings, subcommittee meetings and public hearings throughout the process.

The Comprehensive Plan Subcommittee will resume meeting in January 2014 to begin work on neighborhood plans. Neighborhood plans are tailored to specifically address issues in individual neighborhoods while maintaining consistency with the broader Comprehensive Plan. Stay posted for more information about public participation opportunities coming to a neighborhood near you!

The Comprehensive Plan Subcommittee meets on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 4:00 p.m. in the administrative conference room at Town Hall. These meetings are open to the public and all are welcome to attend.
