WEDNESDAY FITNESS WALK

Location: Various locations
Additional Information: Join the Recreation Staff as we walk at our various parks and have a great time getting some exercise! A monthly schedule of the walking locations will be available for pick-up at the Recreation Center.  In case of inclement weather, we welcome you to come inside and walk at the Recreation Center.  Please call the Rec. Center at 382-2349 if you have any questions regarding the walking schedule, weather, etc.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

EARLY MORNING YOGA – INSTRUCTOR: KIM PUGH

Eligibility: Ages 15 and over
Location: Christiansburg Recreation Center – Multi-Purpose Room 2
Additional Information: How you spend your morning can and will most likely set the tone for the rest of your day. So, try waking up your mind and body with this early morning yoga flow. Take the time at the start of the day to center your awareness, energize the body and allow your spirits to rise with the sun. All levels welcomed. Modifications will be introduced for complex poses so that the beginners can work comfortably at their own level alongside the more advanced students in the class. The class is designed to have varying intensity of movement with focused breath that will leave you feeling strong, calm and refreshed.  Participants supply their own yoga mat.

Additional Information: This is a choreographed cardio workout with a blend of music styles. There will be lots of fun and good times for all fitness levels. MORNING TABATA – INSTRUCTOR: JANCIL WOOGE

Eligibility: Ages 18 and over
Location: Christiansburg Recreation Center – Multi-Purpose Room 2
Additional Information:  Tabata is one of the newest and most unique approaches to hit the fitness world with fantastic results! Tabata workouts are short in duration and designed to boost after exercise caloric burn so your metabolism keeps burning long after the exercise is over. The class contains structured interval workouts using little to no equipment.  Great class for all ages to get fit!

Fee: Town Residents FREE
Additional Information: Participate on your own for this weight loss club. Members will weigh in weekly or monthly at the Recreation Center. We will keep track of your weight loss progress and present you with a “way to go” award for every five pounds lost. Remember, when losing weight it is important to exercise and eat healthy foods.
