The Christiansburg Police Department is an organization comprised of men and women of the community who have dedicated themselves to the protection of life and property of the citizens of Christiansburg.  The safety and welfare of the community is our basic focus as we carry out our duties day by day.

Community policing is the basic organizational philosophy of the Department and as such creates a policing style that includes the community and police identifying and resolving community issues together.  The police and the community work hand in hand in a partnership relationship to identify and solve problems.

In continuing to provide the best possible service to our community, the Police Department became accredited thru the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission in June of 2000.

To become accredited, the agency went through a four phase process, of the Application, Self-Assessment, On-Site Assessment, and Board Decision.

The Police Department must demonstrate that we have accepted, enforce, and train our personnel on certain standards, policies and procedures to have a more effective operation of our agency.

Please be sure to visit our events page for any upcoming activities that are open to the public.
