When you do the math, it’s easy to see what an accurate count of residents can do for your community: better infrastructure, improved services and a brighter tomorrow for everyone. In fact, the information the Census collects helps to determine how billions of dollars in federal funding are spent each year on things like:
Job training centers;
School programs such as Head Start;
Bridges, tunnels, roads and highways;
Emergency services; and
Natural Disaster Response .
Remember, wherever you live on April 1 is where you fill out the Census. University students, be sure to fill it out where you’re living right now, not where you grew up or where your parents reside.
