Description

This event will test your child's fishing ability. Over 300 fish will be stocked in the local, Izaak Walton pond for the rodeo. Each kid will be allowed to catch up to 4 fish in the 2-hour time slot that is allotted. Lunch will be provided to participants. There will be many giveaways and potential raffles. 

RODEO RULES:

  • The upper pond is the only pond that will permitted for fishing during the Rodeo.
  • No minnows, crawfish or frogs will be permitted to be used as bait. Other bait like worms, crickets, PowerBaits, etc. are allowed.
  • Participants are allowed to keep four fish. All trout caught must be kept. Other species can be released but will not be weighed.
  • One fishing pole per child.
  • You may weigh fish at any time after the Rodeo begins.
  • Prizes and Giveaways will be handed out at the conclusion of the Rodeo. 

Place all trash in designated trash receptacles to help keep the facility clean.

No alcoholic beverages are permitted.

All rules and regulations set by the Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Department shall be followed in order to participate. The rules stated above are subject to change as recommendations and regulations from the state, CDC and other organizations evolve. All rules and regulations of the VA Department of Game and Inland Fisheries shall be followed as well.
