Youth Spring Baseball/Softball

Youth Spring Sports

Due to Governor Northam’s extension of not having gatherings of more than 10 people and the stay at home order through June 10th it would be virtually impossible to get the season started prior to July which would provide minimal playing time.  Participants that have registered and paid will receive a refund in the form of a check or credit to their recreation active net account to be used for another sport/program.

On a more pleasant note, if the Governor decides to lift the stay at home order and not limit gatherings of 10 or more people before or on June 10th the Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Department will offer FREE instructional practices on specific dates depending on the division of play.  We will update the dates, times and locations on our website if this were able to occur.  Each division of play will have the same opportunity to participate.  Our youth coaches will provide drill work and skill development for a portion of the practice and then teams will be selected fairly each time they meet and the participants will play scrimmages against each other.  This would strictly be done as a free activity.  We would not have uniforms or umpires as the coaches would handle umpiring but it could allow the participants to enjoy some diamond sport instruction and play at a time of uncertainty.

As always we will continue to follow the mandates provided by the Governor and the Health Department.  The safety, health and well-being of our community is our first priority.  We hope that each of you and your family members stay safe and healthy during this time of distress.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact the Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Department at 540-382-2349.
