Loose leaf collection will run weekdays from Nov. 7 to Dec. 30, weather permitting. Public Works crews will only collect piles of loose leaves; leaves placed in bags will not be accepted. Please do not place your pile of loose leaves in a way that blocks sidewalks, sanitary sewers, solid waste carts, drainage ditches or utility meter boxes.
The Bikeway Walkway Committee meets on the first Friday of every month at 7:30 a.m. in the Administrative Conference Room at Town Hall. For now, the Board meets virtually. Members of the public who would like to participate in the meeting can email email@example.com to be added to the Zoom call. Also streaming will be available at Town Hall.
The Town of Christiansburg offers complimentary curbside brush collection to all residential properties within town limits. Residents must have brush piles placed out by 7 a.m. on the Monday of their collection week, which is based on your address. Please visit www.christiansburg.org/brush to find out your collection week. For this service, brush is defined as tree limbs/logs from trimming or pruning trees. All collected brush must pass through a wood chipper, so the following will not be accepted: leaves, weeds, grass clippings, vines, other yard waste and construction materials. These items can be collected during Spring/Fall cleanup or by scheduling a special pickup through the Public Works department. Please visit www.christiansburg.org/brush to learn about more requirements for brush collection. Brush collection will not run during the months of April and October while Spring/Fall Cleanup happen.

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission meets the first Monday of every month at 6 p.m. at the Christiansburg Recreation Center.
The Aquatic Advisory Board meets the first Wednesday of every month at 4:30 p.m. at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center.
The Dialogue on Race Law Enforcement Subcommittee meets the second Thursday of each month at 4 p.m. For now, meetings are being held virtually. If you would like to participate in a meeting, please contact Wornie Reed at firstname.lastname@example.org. The committee is comprised of Montgomery County law enforcement leaders and residents. Chaired by Wornie Reed, the committee focuses on improving race relations, eliminating racial profiling, achieving law enforcement employee hiring that resembles the county's racial makeup, and supporting community policing efforts.
The Town of Christiansburg will be celebrating the holidays on Friday, Dec. 9, with several events downtown. Join us starting at 5 p.m. for the Christmas Market featuring local crafters and food vendors, followed by the Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6:50 p.m. and the Christmas Parade, themed “Christmas on Main is all a glow. It’s time for lights and lots of snow” is at 7 p.m.
Join Christiansburg Parks and Recreation for a fun evening of Christmas-themed games, activities in Santa’s Workshop, hot chocolate and cookies, Christmas caroling, a visit from Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, and much more!

Santa's sleigh is in the shop, getting fixed up before his big night. In the meantime, he's borrowing one of Christiansburg Fire Department’s trucks to visit our town! See Santa cruising around Christiansburg starting at 6 p.m. each night from Dec. 12-16. Just step outside your home to give him a wave as he drives by!

The Central Business District Committee meets at noon on the Wednesday following the second Town Council meeting of each month in the Administrative Conference Room at Town Hall. Each meeting notice will be updated with agenda items prior to the meeting.
