One Sergeant Detective is certified as a crime scene technician through the Virginia Division of Forensic Science and a crime scene investigator through the International Association for Identification. The CID also has a Sergeant Detective who is certified in arson investigations. Collectively, the five Sergeant Detectives have worked between 400-450 cases per year for the last four years.
