  • If you need assistance or do not have access to internet, you can stop by the 2nd floor of Town Hall M-F 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and someone from the Engineering, Building Inspections or Planning departments will help you.
  • You must create a login to review applications and/or apply.

What Plans & Permits Do I Need? 

There are a variety of permit and plan applications required by local, state and federal code. Types of applications required range from installing a new driveway, to obtaining beehives or chickens on your property, to framing a new building, to operating a business in your home, and a variety of other forms to ensure safe and legal work in our community.

Permit Applications

Permit applications result in a permit being issued for a project to “begin”.

Plan Applications

Plan applications typically result in approval/denial of a plan. Permits are not issued during this process. All plans must be submitted digitally through the self-service portal.

When Was The Self Service Portal Implemented?

In 2025, the Town of Christiansburg unveiled a new digital system for Plans and Permits. This system allows a requester access to applications 24/7, without having to stop by Town Hall.
