1. What is the cost to connect to Town water?

The current fee is $3000 per connection for Town residents and $4500 per connection for non-residents.  For more information, see the Engineering Fees page.

The current fee is $3000 per connection for Town residents (plus $5 per linear foot of lot frontage of certain areas being served). For non-residents, the current fee is $4500 per connection.  For more information, see the Engineering Fees page.

3. My septic system is failing. Can I pump my septic tank?

Town Code may require you to connect to public sewer. Contact the Town of Christiansburg Engineering Department at (540) 382-6120.

4. I want to dispose of a large amount of items. Will the Town pick these items up?

The Town can pick these items up throughout the year by billing the customer $25 per load plus the land fill tipping fee. However, the Town picks up such items twice yearly, between the first and third Saturday during April and October, and at no charge for Town residents only.

5. Can I set items out for spring and fall pick up even though I do not pay for Town garbage collection service.

Yes, spring and fall cleanup is open to all Town residents.

6. I want to fill my pool for the summer, but do not want to be charged for sewer fees that are levied based on water usage. What can I do?

The Town offers residents a pool meter which counts the number of gallons used to fill your pool, and that quantity will be deducted from the sewer portion of your bill upon return. Please contact Debbie Reed or Shana Reed in the Finance Department at 382-9519 and schedule to pick up a pool meter. Meters are available for a 72-hour loan period with a $25 deposit that will be refunded if returned on-time and in working order.
