The Planning Commission is responsible for reviewing a wide variety of land use issues and providing recommendations to Town Council for final action. The Planning Commission considers the Town’s Comprehensive Plan, rezonings, conditional use permits, amendments to the zoning ordinance, and other general planning issues.
The Commission prepares an annual report summarizing the activities of the previous year.

The Christiansburg Planning Commission is comprised of Christiansburg residents appointed by Town Council. The commission also includes a liaison member from Town Council and the Planning Director serves as the non-voting secretary. Each regular member is appointed to a four-year term.
