Public Art Advisory Board - Member Application

Vision of Public Art/ Mission Statement 

Because art enlivens our public spaces, the mission of Public Art in the Town of Christiansburg is to partner with artists to generate community pride, foster a sense of belonging, and welcome visitors.

As such, our guiding principles are to elevate the role of art in connecting people and places, express Christiansburg’s dynamic identity, provide equitable access to a diversity of artists and artistic experiences, celebrate the cultural assets of our community by highlighting our unique character, and honor our history.

Membership

The Board shall be comprised of a mix of Town Council representation, residents, business owners and enterprises, art associations, local school officials and a non-voting staff liaison. The advisory board will not exceed five members, and membership is a two-year term. 

Meetings: 

The Public Arts Advisory Board meets monthly on the second Wednesday of the month, at 11:30 AM, via live stream at Town Hall, 100 East Main Street, Christiansburg, Virginia, as well as virtually to accommodate schedules.
