The Christiansburg Aquatic Center is upgrading its HVAC system. The preparatory work has begun and contractors will be completing physical construction of the project in two phases. The timeline of work is subject to change dependent on weather and supply chain availability. An overview of the project and a tentative timeline are below.
Phase One
September 2025 - March 2026
Phase 1A - Intermittent facility closures
During this phase an additional mechanical yard will be constructed in the rear of the facility. This phase will also include the installation of the standalone unit, enlarged duct work and preparations for Phase 2.

October 2025 - April 2026
Phase 1B - Partial facility closure
Both the Leisure and Therapy pools will be closed beginning Oct. 27, 2025. During this time, the fitness room and multi-purpose room will remain open during public hours. For information on available classes, please visit www.cacpool.com. The competition pool will also be in operation during this phase. Crews will be working on excavating and enlarging the mechanical yard in front of the facility and enlarging the duct work over both pools.

Phase Two
Summer 2026
Phase 2 - Temporary partial closure
The Competition Pool is scheduled to be closed the during the month of May. The fitness room and multi-purpose room will remain open during public hours. For information on available classes, please visit www.cacpool.com.
