Recreational Lands
Christiansburg boasts more than 120 acres of land reserved for public recreational use. Recreation facilities include the skate park adjacent to the Christiansburg Aquatic Center, the Christiansburg Recreation Center and the Harkrader Sports Complex. All Town residents are eligible for a free membership to the 62,000 square foot Recreation Center.

Harkrader Sports Complex features three multi-purpose baseball/softball fields and hosts a wide array of local, state and national tournaments.

The Christiansburg Aquatic Center is a state-of-the-art facility complete with a 50-meter competition pool, leisure pool and warm water therapy pool, as well as cardio fitness equipment, multi-purpose rooms and a sun deck. Through a cooperative agreement with Virginia Tech, the Christiansburg Aquatic Center serves as Virginia Tech's ‘home’ for swim meets and national competitions, which bring national swim meets and tourism to Christiansburg.

Outdoor Recreation

Christiansburg is proud to be part of the TransAmerica Bike Route (U.S Bicycle Route 76), as well as the Huckleberry Trail. The Huckleberry Trail is a popular 9-mile paved path connecting Christiansburg and Blacksburg.

Still craving more green space? Just a stone's throw away from Christiansburg, you'll find the 110-acre Mid-County Park, the Montgomery County Coal Mining Heritage Park and Science Center, and the Meadows Golf and Country Club. The Jefferson National Forest, Appalachian National Scenic Trail, Blue Ridge Parkway, Claytor Lake State Park, and the New River (an American Heritage River) are also easily accessible from Christiansburg.
