Each December, the Town holds its annual Christmas at the Market, Tree Lighting Ceremony and Christmas Parade. Along with those programs, we also have Santa make Calls from the North Pole.

Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Department has been in contact with the North Pole! Santa has agreed to personally call children 8 years and younger. 

2026 Market

Friday, December 11 at 5 p.m.

Christmas at the Market will take place in conjunction with the Town of Christiansburg’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and Christmas Parade, known collectively as Christmas on Main. The Market will take place 5-8 p.m. in Downtown Christiansburg. The Market is open to artisans, crafters, and farmers market vendors.

Christiansburg Farmers' Market vendors, local crafters and food vendors will be set up for the event. All other vendors not in these areas are not sanctioned by the Town as part of the event.  

2026 Tree Lighting

Friday, December 11 at 6:50 p.m.

Town Square

A ceremonial tree lighting ceremony with the Mayor will take place in Town Square at 6:50 p.m. 

2026 Parade  

Friday, December 11 at 7 p.m.

Downtown Christiansburg

The Christmas parade will be held on Friday, December 11 at 7 p.m. 

Parade entries will be judged with the following criteria:
Three categories: A. Float, B. Non - Float (marching/walking groups, cars, and bands), C. Best Overall.
