Description
Join us at Izaak Walton Pond for an exciting, family-friendly day of fishing at the Tony Huddleston Trout Rodeo! This event will put your child's fishing skills to the ultimate test, with over 300 fish stocked in the pond just for this occasion.
The fishing tournament will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and each child will be allowed to catch up to four fish. Awards, giveaways, and raffles will take place once fishing has ended.
Lunch will be provided to all participants.
RODEO RULES:
- Children must be between the ages of 4-15
- The upper pond is the only pond that will be permitted for fishing during the Rodeo.
- No minnows, crawfish or frogs will be permitted to be used as bait. Other bait like worms, crickets, Power Baits, etc. are allowed.
- Participants are allowed to keep four fish. All trout caught must be kept. Other species can be released but will not be weighed.
- One fishing pole per child. - You may weigh fish at any time after the Rodeo begins.
- Place all trash in designated trash receptacles to help keep the facility clean.
- No alcoholic beverages are permitted.
- Do not clean fish on premises.
All rules and regulations set by the Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Department shall be followed in order to participate. All rules and regulations of the VA Department of Wildlife Resources and will be followed as well.
