The Town of Christiansburg received a planning grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) to study three areas in town: Downtown, Midtown, and Cambria. The result of this grant is the Christiansburg Placemaking Plan: a road map that will guide the Town of Christiansburg toward its goal of becoming a cultural destination for the community.
Using the Christiansburg Placemaking Plan, the Town of Christiansburg applied for an ARC construction grant and was awarded $275,000. The Town plans to use these funds for the construction of a community gathering space for its farmers market, as recommended in the Placemaking Plan.
