During the remainder of 2024, VDOT will be working to upgrade signals throughout the Town of Christiansburg as part of the Traffic Signal Coordination Program. These improvements will allow VDOT to better coordinate detours with the Town when there are incidences that occur on the I-81 Corridor.
Beginning the week of April 30, work will take place in two locations:
• across W. Main St. at W. Main St. and Radford St.
• across S. Franklin St. at S. Franklin St. and First St.
Work at the two locations above is expected to be completed this week.
During the duration of this project, signage will be in place to direct traffic. Motorists should proceed with caution and expect delays.
The work for this project will be intermittent throughout the year. We will continue to update this post when we have more information and additional dates/times.
