During the remainder of 2024, VDOT will be working to upgrade signals throughout the Town of Christiansburg as part of the Traffic Signal Coordination Program. These improvements will allow VDOT to better coordinate detours with the Town when there are incidences that occur on the I-81 Corridor.
Beginning the week of July 15, work will take place in two locations:
• The intersection of S. Franklin St. and First St. - July 15 and 16
• The intersection of W. Main St. and Radford Rd. - July 17
During this time, there will be temporary lane closures and flagging operations. Motorists should proceed with caution and expect delays.
The work for this project will be intermittent throughout the year. We will continue to update this post when we have more information and additional dates/times.
