On Thursday, Sept. 12, the Town of Christiansburg is holding a public information session regarding the proposed Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Transportation Alternatives Program funding applications. The following proposed projects will be discussed at Town Hall from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
- The Cambria Trail project involves the extension of a 10-foot wide multi-use asphalt trail from the Christiansburg Aquatic Center through the future Amtrak Passenger Rail Station to Cambria Square.
- The Wades Lane/Betty Drive Pedestrian Improvements project involves the installation of sidewalk on the south side of Wades Lane from N. Franklin Street to the relocated Betty Drive intersection. It will also include the construction of a 10-foot wide asphalt multi-use trail on the east side of Betty Drive from Wades Lane to Depot Street.
- The N. Franklin Street Sidewalks project involves installation of sidewalk from Elm Street to Mill Lane.
