During the remainder of 2024, VDOT will be working to upgrade signals throughout the Town of Christiansburg as part of the Traffic Signal Coordination Program. These improvements will allow VDOT to better coordinate detours with the Town when there are incidences that occur on the I-81 Corridor.
Beginning June 24, a contractor will be installing junction boxes and trenching at Roanoke St. / Depot St. and W. Main St. / Moose Dr. This work is expected to be completed on June 27.
These work locations will require temporary road closures. Signage will be in place to direct traffic. Motorists should proceed with caution and expect delays.
The work for this project will be intermittent throughout the year. We will continue to post updates on this project when we have more information.
