Beginning Feb. 10, 2025, the Town of Christiansburg will begin sanitary sewer rehabilitation work in neighborhoods near South Franklin St., south of the I-81 overpass. The project is expected to continue through the end of the month.
About the Project:
The work will include cleaning and lining sanitary sewer pipes and rehabilitating manholes to help reduce inflow and infiltration (I&I) in the Town's sewer system.
What to Expect:
- Contractors will deliver door hangers to affected residences before beginning work.
- Some activities may be near private sewer connections to the main lines, which could temporarily increase pressure in household plumbing.
- To avoid potential splashing, residents are advised to keep toilet seat lids closed during this time.
- Temporary construction equipment and activity will be present, but no significant service disruptions are anticipated.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we improve the Town’s infrastructure. If you have any questions or need more information, please contact the Town of Christiansburg Engineering Department at (540) 382-6120.
